Robbie Williams recently claimed that he was to give pop to become a full-time ufologist (someone who studies UFOs) - but he has clearly found interests closer to Earth.
Fatty food, by the looks of his expanded girth, and a brunette called Suzanna.
The now portly singer, 34, who is worth an estimated £130m, was recently spotted cosying up with his new love interest Studio City in LA after a game of golf with family members.

Robbie Williams disappeared from view at the end of 2006. Since then, he has become obsessed with UFOs and extraterrestrials. To gather evidence, he and Jon Ronson headed deep into the Nevada desert On December 18 2006, Robbie Williams played the last of 59 stadium shows in a row, announced he was going to spend Christmas at his home in Los Angeles, and then basically disappeared. He was hardly seen at all in 2007. He briefly checked into rehab. He spent quite a bit of time hiking and playing football (he owns a football pitch on Mulholland Drive). Then he stopped hiking and playing football. His record company, EMI, announced he had no plans to release an album in 2008. Today he unexpectedly calls me to ask if I want to go with him to the desert in Nevada to meet UFO abductees. thx to nupica

ROBBIE WILLIAMS’ obsession with extra-terrestrials has just jumped to lightspeed. The beardy pop nob has been spending his free time — which is about 18 hours, seven days a week — visiting observatories in the Arizona desert. Rob has been peering through telescopes looking into space for signs of life on other planets.

I THOUGHT that ROBBIE WILLIAMS was supposed to be on strike? “And the big reunion with Guy was a real let-down. They just couldn’t reignite that spark.”

Robbie Williams is not on strike with his record label, his manager has insisted. Last week, it was claimed that the pop superstar was refusing to release a new album with EMI, who are going through a period of upheaval. There were also reports that the singer was seeking an exit from the company, following in the recent footsteps of Paul McCartney and Radiohead. However, Robbie's manager Tim Clark says his client is simply not considering a new album and marketing campaign until the situation at the label settles down. "On strike? I didn't actually use those terms", explained Clark after his comments were used in the media. "What we actually said was it would be unrealistic to expect an artist - any artist to deliver an album while we have no idea where EMI are going", he told Music Week. Robbie's last album was "Rudebox", released in October 2006.

The Times of London reports that Robbie Williams is angry with the private equity firm Terra Firma that has taken over his record company EMI, and his manager Tim Clark is suggesting the singer could withhold a new album unless things change. "The question is, 'Should Robbie deliver the new album he is due to release to EMI?' We have to say the answer is 'No'," Clark said. "We have no idea how EMI will market and promote the album. They do not have anyone in the digital sphere capable of doing the job required. All we know is they are going to decimate their staff."
Clark complained that the financier was acting like a "plantation owner" who had stumbled into the record industry via a "vanity purchase". As for what the label could do at this point, Clark said, "EMI can sue or pay up his contract. Robbie needs to know what services EMI can provide to an artist of his standing." Also unhappy with the current situation at EMI is another sales titan Coldplay. Read more.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is going on STRIKE against the new owners of his record company - and withholding his next album. Angry Robbie, 33, is leading a protest by stars signed to EMI over thousands of predicted job cuts by bosses. Other big names, including Coldplay, are set to join him. Robbie’s next album in his £80million EMI deal is due in September. But his manager Tim Clark said: “Should he deliver the new album? We have to say ‘No’.”

Robbie Williams checked in with fans on his official web site's blog on Thursday (January 3). The singer writes, "There might not be a proper album out this year and there definitely won't be a tour any time soon. Fu** that, the last one nearly killed me. There will be some kind of something this year. I might just put the B-sides to the next album out first online. Then put an album out in 2009. Which means you won't be seeing a lot of me on stage for a while. Sorry folks. I do have to say, the more time I'm spending away from public life, the more I like it. Unfortunately I have a massive competitive urge that wants me to put out three albums a year. Which one will win? I'm sure as soon as I get bored I'll be back. But right now there's a soy vanilla latte and mince pie waiting for me in the kitchen."

AUSTRALIAN radio's music tastes are well and truly coloured Pink, as the country's listeners tune into the American pop star more often than any other artist. Last week, the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia's annual list of the most broadcast tracks showed the pop singer's U + UR Hand was top. Second was Robbie Williams, who grabbed the spot despite having no new releases.
